Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Georgia met with Prime Minister

On 20 May 2024, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in Georgia D. Seyitmammedov met with the Prime Minister of Georgia I. Kobakhidze.
The sides noted with satisfaction the active growth of Turkmen-Georgian relations, as well as the positive experience of multilateral interaction within the framework of authoritative international and regional organizations. The interlocutors also expressed interest in organizing mutual visits at the highest level.
During the meeting, the state and prospects of trade and economic relations, development of cooperation in industry, transport, fuel and energy sector, cultural and humanitarian sphere were also discussed. The role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Georgian Commission on Economic Cooperation in the context of the further development of trade and economic relations was emphasized.
The Ambassador informed the Prime Minister about the celebrations on the occasion of the 300th Anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, which will be held in Turkmenistan and abroad, and invited the Prime Minister to the International Forum of Heads of State and Government, which will be held in October 2024 in Ashgabat. He added that on 17 May this year, with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, monuments to the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi, poets and thinkers of other countries were unveiled in the Magtymguly Pyragy cultural and park complex. Among them is a monument to the great Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli.
I.Kobakhidze expressed his gratitude to the Turkmen side for the invitation, as well as for this initiative, noting that the opening of the monument will contribute to the strengthening of cultural ties between the two countries and peoples.
At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed confidence that the traditionally friendly interstate ties, strategic partnership based on trust, mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests will serve as a guarantee for the further strengthening of Turkmen-Georgian cooperation.
The meeting was held in a friendly and trusting atmosphere.
