USAID Supports International IT Network Associate Certification in Turkmenistan

November 15, 2022, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan – Today, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in partnership with the Academy of Civil Service (ACS) under the President of Turkmenistan, started a 10-day training course on network administration in the public sector for Turkmen information technology (IT) specialists.  The course equips Turkmen specialists with knowledge about network fundamentals, internet protocol (IP) connectivity, cybersecurity essentials, automation, programmability of networks and other services.  The training course will conclude with an international Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) online exam and Turkmen professionals will receive their first international IT certification.

Transitioning to a digital economy is one of Turkmenistan’s priorities for sustainable development.  USAID works with the Government of Turkmenistan to promote innovative methods of information resource management and to bring world-class digital solutions to the country’s public administration.  Specifically, USAID’s work with the ACS helps address the need for qualified specialists to develop and sustain digital networks within public institutions in Turkmenistan.

USAID Country Representative to Turkmenistan Nino Nadiradze noted: “We are glad and honored to partner with the Academy of Civil Service to introduce budding IT specialists to the international community of certified network associates for future knowledge exchange and introduction of the IT industry’s best practices in the public administration sector of Turkmenistan.”

The USAID-funded Governance Support Program, implemented by the QED Group LLC, in partnership with the Government of Turkmenistan, aims to strengthen accountability, effectiveness, and transparency of governance in the country.
