On the 10th of May 2021, the visit of the governmental delegation of Turkmenistan to the People’s Republic of China has started.
In the first day of the visit, a meeting of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.O.Meredov and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan S.G.Berdimuhamedov with the Member of PRC’s State Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi was held.
During the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the high level of political dialogue between the two states. The interest in further expansion of Turkmen-Chinese relations on a wide range was underlined as it was voiced during the recent telephone conversation of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.
Emphasizing that in the next year 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries will be reached; the parties analyzed the results of bilateral cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect, friendship and account of mutual interests.
During the talks, the key aspects of international and regional agenda, as well as a number of issues posing common interest including the provision of international information and biologic security were discussed.
In his capacity of the Co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Chinese Committee for Cooperation, S.G.Berdimuhamedov highlighted the priority vectors of interaction between the two countries including the gas sector, financial and investment partnership, healthcare.
A constructive exchange of views took place on the development of cooperation in the area of transport, communications, trade and others.
The parties also spoke for progressive development of cultural-humanitarian collaboration.
In addition, the bilateral meetings of the members of Turkmen delegation with the representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the PRC were held.
