On January 10, 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Turkmenistan, Ms. Lucia Wilde.
During the meeting, Minister R.Meredov congratulated the British Ambassador on her appointment to a responsible position and wished her success in her diplomatic activities. It was noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Great Britain.
Issues of strengthening relations between the two countries, including expansion of bilateral political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation were discussed. The positive experience of multilateral cooperation was emphasized, as well as the importance of mutual support of international undertakings and initiatives within the framework of reputable regional and international platforms.
During the meeting, Ambassador Lucia Wilde presented copies of her credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and emphasized that during her diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan she would make every effort to further expand and strengthen ties between the two countries.
