EU Delegation promotes sports and teaches nature survival skills to youth

The European Union Delegation to Turkmenistan together with the Nature Protection Society, public association Agama and Frisbee club of Ashgabat held a sports and nature survival day for youth of Turkmenistan.

The event took place at the shore of the Geokdepe Lake with participation of almost 60 teenagers and their parents.

During the event, participants have collected the waste on the lake, then underwent a short training in nature survival.

“We believe that investment in youth helps to drive the progress. EU Delegation takes care of the environment issues and we are happy to see the level of engagement from our friends and followers,” noted EU Ambassador to Turkmenistan Diego Ruiz Alonso.

The event became the third mass action of the EU Delegation proting nature protection and youth engagement in Turkmenistan. The first was held in October 2021 in support of the #EUBeachCleanUp campaign, then in April 2022 on the occasion of the Earth Day.
